Recap Digital Finance Conference 2022
How do we change the financial system for the better? We discussed this at the Digital Finance Conference in 33 sessions with around 350 guests and over 65 speakers over two days. Our CEO Bernhard Rohleder opened the event, followed by Mario Brandenburg, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, who gave the opening keynote speech. Afterwards, financial experts took a close look at digital finance in Europe. "Let's start thinking European and stop working against each other on a national level," appealed Dr Peter Robejsek from Mastercard.
The #digifin22 was all about the transformation and innovation of the financial ecosystem on three stages in exciting keynotes, panel discussions and interactive workshops. Fabian Wesemann kicked things off with his opening speech. If he could change one thing about the ecosystem, it would be the German fear of digitalisation: "We need courage!" said the CFO & Co-Founder of wefoxHQ. Prof. Dr. Joachim Wuermeling, Member of the Executive Board of Deutsche Bundesbank, later spoke about the importance of striking a balance between innovation and regulation, stressing that writing new rules takes time, while innovations develop quickly.
Exciting international insights were provided at European level by Mairead McGuinness, Commissioner for Financial Services, Financial Stability and Capital Markets Union in the European Commission, and into the Israeli digital financial system by Dikla Wagner. The three great startup pitches by Spott, GeoX and Connected Insurance were also a special highlight.
We would like to thank all participants and are already looking forward to the next Digital Finance Conference on 26 and 27 April 2023.
