Sascha Dewald
Sascha Dewald is Senior Vice President Retail Banking of Deutsche Kreditbank AG, DKB and member of the board at Payments Europe, an association of global and European card-based payment solutions providers created to strengthen the voice of the industry.. Before his recent position, Sascha managed FinReach (now finleap connect) as CEO. FinReach is a Berlin-based Fintech company that develops digital solutions for financial services that unify industry knowledge with technical know-how and a product-centric thinking. Furthermore, he co-founded Paylogic Germany in 2010 and sold it four years later. Paylogic is a ticketing company for music, culture and sports organiser with a very innovative and technology driven approach. Currently, he is member of the Mastercard supervisory board and board member of the FinTech and Banking working group of BITKOM e.V. Aside from his businesses, he serves as a mentor, advisor, coach and Angel to upcoming digital entrepreneurs.

Benedikt Faupel
Benedikt Faupel is responsible for Blockchain technology at Bitkom. In this role, he acts as a spokesperson for the diverse blockchain industry and as a translator for policymakers. He drives networking among and exchange with each other and advocates for the creation of national and international framework conditions for blockchain technology. Previously, he worked in policy consulting and at a startup.

Dr Roland Folz
Dr Roland Folz is Chief Executive Officer of Solarisbank AG (since February 2017). Roland has over 25 years of experience in the banking and financial services sector, with additional senior management expertise in the mobility and telecoms industries. He joined Solarisbank from Deutsche Bank, where he spent almost eight years in various regional and global CFO responsibilities. Prior to Deutsche Bank he held executive roles within the T-Com/T-Home division for Deutsche Telekom AG and was CEO of DaimlerChrysler Bank AG. As Co-CEO of Direkt Anlage Bank AG, Roland expanded Germanys first discount broker into 6 European countries, eventually taking the company public in 1999.

Oliver Fußwinkel
Mr Fusswinkel has been a Member of the BaFin since 2009. Having first dealt with fundamental questions relating to the regulatory perimeter of new business and investment models, including cross-border issues, he has been head of the Strategic Division on Financial technological innovations, which he has set up since June 2017. In this function, it acts as an Innovation Hub and deals with the analysis and possible impact of innovative financial technologies and related business models on regulation and supervision. His current priorities include regulatory and supervisory implications relating to crypto assets and related phenomena such as decentralised finance (DeFi). Among other things, he helped regulate the crypto custody business and was a head of the Council working group during Germany’s Presidency in 2020 on the European Commission’s regulatory proposal for markets in crypto assets (“Mica”).

Katharina Gehra belongs to the “Top 40 under 40” - a ranking by the German business magazine Capital. Furthermore, Katharina Gehra has been nominated as expert on the subject of blockchain for parliamentary hearings at the German Bundestag.
Katharina Gehra is the Co-Founder of Immutable Insight, an innovative German start-up that delivers 100% reliable insights on blockchain in real time for traders and investors and a new era of advanced compliance. She is also a supervisory board member at the Fürstlich Castell'sche Bank. She uses her entrepreneurial passion as an active early stage investor. Waldemar Grudzien
As Expert Director, Dr. Waldemar Grudzien deals with the regulation and supervision of security and data protection and their technological effects on IT infrastructures. He and his teams have overall responsibility for security and data protection in development projects, both in technical and organizational dimensions. Operationally, Waldemar works on information security and data protection management systems from development to certification. Additionally, Waldemar is named DPO and ISO in different client structures. As an electrical engineering graduate from the Technical University of Berlin and a graduate economist from the FHW Berlin, he was responsible for the areas of retail banking and banking technologies as a manager in a national banking association. Since May 2021, Waldemar has been Chairman of the Information Security Working Group at Bitkom with over 1,400 members.

Martin Kassing
Martin Kassing is CEO and founder of Berlin-based fintech Upvest. With over 15 years of experience in fintech and capital markets, Martin founded Upvest with the goal of making investing as easy as spending money. Therefore, Upvest developed an investment API that enables other FinTechs to provide their savers with access to the full range of investment opportunities. Before building his own company, Martin was private equity manager at Avedon and COO at the fintech ShopCo. ShopCo successfully expanded into the US and was acquired by Klarna in 2018.

Luisa Kruse
Luisa Kruse is a Senior Innovation Manager at the Frankfurt Innovation Hub TechQuartier. She currently leads the research & development project Financial Big Data Cluster (safeFBDC), with the aim to pilot solutions and standards for the cross-institutional use of financial data. The project consortium under the leadership of TechQuartier, consists of 11 partners and numerous associated partners covering a large part of the German financial industry. Previously, Luisa worked for three years in the technology consulting department of Pricewaterhouse Coopers in Frankfurt am Main and Berlin. Mairead McGuinness
Mairead McGuinness is the European Commissioner for financial services, financial stability and Capital Markets Union.
The Commissioner’s vision for the portfolio is focused on ensuring the financial sector’s strength and stability, so that it can deliver for people, society and the environment.
Before joining the Commission in October 2020, Ms McGuinness was First Vice-President of the European Parliament from 2017. She served as an MEP from Ireland for 16 years, and was a Vice-President of the Parliament since 2014.
As Vice-President, she oversaw relations with national Parliaments, led the Parliament’s dialogue with religious and philosophical organisations, and had responsibility for the Parliament’s communication policy.
During her time in the Parliament, Ms McGuinness sat on a range of committees, covering agriculture, environment, public health, budgets, petitions and constitutional affairs. Her legislative work included leading for the EPP Group on the European Climate Law, the revision of medical devices legislation, and CAP reform post-2013. As an Irish MEP representing the border region, she was outspoken on Brexit and the consequences for the EU and Ireland.
In 2006-2007, Ms McGuinness chaired the Parliament’s investigation into the collapse of the Equitable Life assurance company which identified issues around weak financial regulation.
Prior to becoming an MEP, she was an award-winning journalist, broadcaster and commentator.

Dirk Mühlenweg
Dirk Mühlenweg is Government Engagement Director for the DACH Region where he develops innovative solutions for digital payment, Data Driven Government and Cyber Security for clients of the government sector. He brings with him many years of experience in Business Development, Sales and Consulting mainly in the Industries of Government and Finance. In 21 years at IBM, he worked as Global Government Leader for Internet of Things (IoT) and in other Consulting, Sales and Marketing Senior Leadership positions. During his career he developed and completed numerous national and international projects, also using the Garage Approach as well as the Design Thinking Method. Dirk Mühlenweg has a strong passion for advancing Government and NGO Organizations through Business Innovation and Digitization.

Achim Oelgarth

Achim Oelgarth has been working in the financial industry and advises tech startups for over 20 years now. With more than 17 years of experience in e-commerce, Nina was most recently CEO of the online shopping club brands4friends and spent 15 years in various leadership roles at the online marketplace eBay. Torben Rabe
Torben Rabe is Country Director of Qonto Germany, the leading finance management solution in Europe. Torben is known for his know-how on FinTech and finance topics, as well as innovative and strategic business planning within the DACH region. He is particularly passionate about the digitalisation of the German Mittelstand, as well the success of the German & European startup ecosystem. Marcos Raiser do Ó
Marcos Raiser do Ó manages Stripe's operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as in the Central and Eastern Europe region. After studying business administration at the Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, he worked for Sun Microsystems, IBM and Salesforce. Subsequently, he was responsible for Microsoft’s entire business with banks, insurance companies and financial service providers in Germany. After a further stint at IPsoft, Marcos Raiser do Ó joined Stripe in February 2020.

Maximilian Riege
Maximilian Riege has been Chief Operating Officer of Penta Fintech GmbH since June 2021. In his role, he is responsible for the operational and regulatory functions including Banking & Payment Operations, Vendor & Outsourcing Management as well as Legal, AML, Compliance & Risk.
Prior to joining Penta, he was General Manager and General Counsel of Verimi GmbH, the European data, identity and payment platform. At Verimi, he headed the Finance, Human Resources and Legal & Compliance departments.
Maximilian is admitted to the bar in Germany and New York and was a partner at a law firm specialising in regulatory and commercial law. He was also a Wagner Fellow at the NYU Pollack Center for Law & Business.

Dr Bernhard Rohleder
Bernhard Rohleder (born 1965) was one of the founders of Bitkom e.V. at the end of 1999 and has been the association's Chief Executive Officer since then.
Rohleder began his professional career with positions at ZF Friedrichshafen GmbH in Saarbrücken, the press publisher Ploetz in Berlin and the Brandenburg Ministry of Economics in Potsdam. In 1994, he joined the Information Technology Association of the VDMA and ZVEI, Frankfurt/Main, as Press Spokesman and Assistant to the Executive Board. Three years later, Rohleder took over the position of Deputy Managing Director there and shortly afterwards that of Managing Director. In 1997, he was simultaneously appointed Secretary General of Eurobit, the European umbrella organisation of the IT industry, with headquarters in Brussels and Frankfurt. In 2000, he merged Eurobit with the European Association of the Communications Technology Industry to form the new umbrella organisation Digital Europe and subsequently represented the German high-tech industry on its board. In 1997/1998, Rohleder also led the General Secretariat of the International Information Industry Congress (IIIC), the world association of the IT industry. From 1997 to 2005, he also headed the market research institute European Information Technology Observatory (EITO) as Managing Director.
Rohleder is a member of the advisory board of the German Institute for Trust and Security on the Internet (Divsi) and of the jury of the "Made in.de" start-up prize. Among other things, he represents the industry in the relevant committees of the Federation of German Industries (BDI). In the 17th legislative period, Rohleder was a member of the Enquête Commission of the German Bundestag "Internet and Digital Society".
Rohleder studied political science from 1987, first at Saarland University and later at the Paris Institut d'Etudes Politiques, where he graduated in 1991. He received his doctorate (Dr. rer. pol.) from the Free University of Berlin. Rohleder is married, has one child and lives in Berlin.

Dr Philipp Schmitt
Philipp Schmitt is a member of the German Executive Team and responsible for customer growth in the consumer business. Cornelia Schwertner
Cornelia Schwertner works as founder and CEO of Brygge on her startup idea to combine digital finance and social impact. Brygge is developing an Open Banking based, intuitive bridge to any primary bank for people 55+, which will be usable alone or in tandem with the family. Data-based, independent financial knowledge for everyday life and retirement as a financial new beginning will also make up the vertical offering for a diverse user group. Dr. Philipp Spreer is a concept developer and behavioral strategist at elaboratum in Hamburg. She started her career as a consultant at Accenture and later headed the current accounts and payments strategy at the German Savings Banks Association. In 2018 she joined Kontist, the digital banking challenger, as Co-CEO. Sibylle has a broad board expertise, amongst others with Mastercard in Germany and foodwatch, a European customer rights organisation. She is a trained banker and holds an MBA from the University of Passau.

Dr Verena Thaler
Dr Verena Thaler is Chief of Staff at Raisin and responsible for the company’s strategic business development, transformation, and portfolio management. After helping Raisin grow its network to include over 300 banking and fintech partners, Verena took charge of leading the company’s transformation after the merger with Deposit Solution to become one of the largest fintechs in Europe. Prior to joining Raisin, Verena served as Junior Partner at McKinsey & Company.
As an Austrian, Verena is a big fan of freshly roasted coffee, snow-capped mountains and Styrian pumpkin seed oil. But she has long since lost her heart to Berlin, where she lives.

Jürgen von der Lehr is Head of Strategy and Business Development of ING. In this role he is responsible for ING’s strategy, M&A, innovation and sustainability activities. Jürgen has 20 years of experience in the Financial Services industry and has gained extensive digital skills as well as strategic and operational expertise in retail and corporate experience banking. Prior to his role at ING, Jürgen was Head of Digital Innovation and Head of Online Brokerage at Deutsche Bank and a Partner at Oliver Wyman. He has a degree in business administration (Diplom-Kaufmann) from Mannheim University.

Stephen Voss

Stephen Voss started his professional career at Allianz AG in Frankfurt. After graduating in business management in 1997 he worked for the Deutsche Bank AG and for the Halifax-Bank of Scotland in Luxembourg for more than 10 years.
After several other stations of his career, he acted as General Management Executive Manager for AIG Group in Frankfurt for the German and Austrian market from 2010 to mid-2013.
From 2013 to 2016 he held the position of Profit Center Manager Broker Personal Lines & Small Business for the Zurich Insurance Group. At the same time, Stephen was also CEO and in charge of the Executive Office at Baden-Badener Versicherung AG for Sales & HR.

Dikla Wagner represents MunichRE in Israel and is head of technology scouting. Dikla is an Israeli key opinion leader and a speaker in the world of insurtech and insurance technology. The Israeli entrepreneurial ecosystem has been Dikla's home for the past 15 years, as an entrepreneur, VC investor, and consultant. She is an economist and lawyer from a prestigious university. Also, she is the chairman of the Israeli Insurtech Alliance.

Kristina Walcker-Mayer
Kristina has over 10 years of digital experience and is now the CEO and former CPO at Nuri, formerly called Bitwala. Before starting her roles at Nuri, she has worked at N26 and Zalando during their hyper-growth stages. At N26 she was the product lead and at Zalando she was in the loyalty and Mobile Apps team, where she delivered customer-centric solutions and drove the mobile mindset within Zalando’s various departments.
Before building products on the company side, Kristina worked as Mobile Consultant and Account Manager for agencies like Aperto and Iconmobile, building up mobile strategies and creating innovative mobile solutions for major clients in the retail, television, NGO and automotive industries.

Jan-Niklas Wilde
As Senior Business Development Executive & Teamlead, Jan-Niklas Wilde is responsible for new customer business in the areas of healthcare and finance & insurance at Myra, as well as the cooperation with the associated channel partners. He knows the requirements of customers in the DACH region and has worked for several years in different sales functions. His wealth of experience includes Cyber Security, Security-as-a-Service, DDoS Mitigation and IT Infrastructure. Dr Heike Winter
At the Deutsche Bundesbank, Dr Heike Winter is responsible for policy issues relating to digitalisation in payments. This comprises committee work in the Eurosystem on retail payments and the project on a digital euro. After completing her degree in economics, Heike worked at an institute for economic theory. She joined the Deutsche Bundesbank in February 1999, working initially in the Public Relations and Economic Education Departments before transferring to the Payments Department in March 2007.

Prof Dr Joachim Wuermeling
Dr Joachim Wuermeling has been a member of the Deutsche Bundesbank’s Executive Board since November 2016. His remit covers banking supervision, risk control and information technology. He is a member of the ECB Supervisory Board and represents Deutsche Bundesbank in the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (BCBS) as well as the German Financial Stability Committee (AFS).
